THE SOLUTION
"You see at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:6-8). The solution to the problem facing man is not more science and technology, a philosophy or religion, government or ideology. Sometimes these things seem helpful, but are really like putting a band-aid on cancer, they don't get to the root of the problem. That root is the evil that man has allowed to become a part of himself. Only God has a solution to this problem. The solution is His Son, Jesus Christ. "For he made him [Jesus Christ] who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus took upon Himself the penalty we deserve. "This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one an donly8 son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and send His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins" (I John 4:9,10).
God. who was gracious enough to give us our first breath, has further been gracious to give us His only Son to die in our place, take away our guilt, and give us a future hope. To those who respond properly to Him and His gift, He promises freedom from sin or wrongdoing, eternal life where there are no problems -- no pain, suffering, war, sickness, hatred--and blessings beyond anything we can imagine. See Romans 6:23; Revelation 21:4; Ephesians 3:20). God wants to bless us and give us these things, provided that we're willing to recognize to accept us. He wants us to come to Him. Jesus said, "whoever comes to me, I will never drive away" (John 6:37). True love and acceptance are found in Jesus. But we must come to Him. How do we come to Him?
OUR RESPONSE
We are all given our own choice concerning how we respond to God's solution. We can choose to believe and follow Him or we can choose not to. But the choice we make determines our eternal destiny. It is not just a matter of personal preference. Each person needs to examine the evidence and claims of Jesus Christ and make a serious evaluation of them. He said, "if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins" (John 8:24). "whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see the life" (John 3:36). Believing in Jesus is not just a mental recognition of who He is and what
He's done, but is a total trust and reliance upon Him for strength, direction, and guidance.
After hearing God's word (Romans 10:17) and coming to Faith in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 11:6) One must repent. Jesus said, "Except ye repent ye shall likewise perish" (Luke 13:3). Repentance is a CHANGE of mind. God wants us to change from thinking our own thoughts to thinking His thoughts (Isaiah 55: 8,9).
Fourthly, one will need to confess Jesus as Lord. Matthew 10:32-33. Confession is not just speaking words but what we believe in our hearts. Finally, baptism is the last act of expression of our faith (trust) in Jesus which he has commanded us to do in order to enter into a covenant relationship with Him. It is our appeal to God for a clear conscience (I Peter 3:21)- Acts 2:38.
A WORD TO THE WISE
Jesus said, "For many will come in my name, claiming I am the Christ and will deceive many" (Matthew 24:5) Jesus warned that in the last days there would be many who call themselves Christians and claiming Jesus is the Messiah yet they would deceive many people. Today. we see this very thing. Many denominations; Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Mormons, Moonies, Jehovah's Witnesses and many others. Did you know that the Bible teaches us that we all should "speak the same thing, and that there be NO DIVISIONS (denominations) among you; but that ye BE PERFECTLY JOINED TOGETHER in the SAME mind and in the SAME judgement. How did we get to this confusion (I Corinthians 14:33)?? click here to find out.
